It’sa Meat’aball!

No. 1
I’m sure many of you have heard the acronym KISS better known as the design principle "Keep it simple, Stupid!" The KISS principle states that simplicity should be a key goal in any design. When good friends Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow were bouncing ideas to create a unique approach to opening their own restaurant, they did just that……KEPT IT SIMPLE with nothing more than your classic MEATBALL!

No. 2
The Meatball Shop café, located on New York’s Lower East Side, has literally eaten up the media with nothing but enthusiastic reviews and not surprisingly so when you see the out the door line of salivating customers waiting to get their mouth wrapped around their balls! Tasteless to say but tastefully true!

No. 3
Keeping it simple doesn’t mean you don’t have some options when ordering from their dry erase board menu. The cafés flavorfully seasoned meatballs come in beef and spicy pork as well as chicken, vegetable, salmon (I’m not so sure about fish balls) and a weekly special…..MEATBALLS of course! Their made to order menu gives you the opportunity to choose the type of balls, sauce and cheese served up balls only, slider, hero or smash AND comes with a variety of delectable sides. Along with your meatballs, order up an ice cold beer which is served in old quart-size milk bottles. Nice touch! If that’s not enough to make you unbutton your pants after dining, The Meatball Shop presents a TO DIE FOR ice cream sandwich dessert that is also made to order choosing from fresh baked cookies and house made ice cream! I’ll take a caramel chocolate chip please!

No. 2
Often described by mainstream publications as BEST OF THE BEST, this creator of masculine interiors is well known for mixing classical elements with contemporary materials. Looking thru his portfolio of work, be prepared to expect the unexpected…..

I Wanna Be Nacho Figueras!!!

No. 1
What kind of man do you think Reynolds Still would be? Would he be the guy who is a party hard rock star who happens to have a secret desire to become an interior architect and furniture builder? Is he that guy who creates extraordinary rhinestone covered suits for the world’s most popular singers OR is he an amazing athlete, one of the top polo players in the world? …All a shameless plug for previous posts on the Reynolds Still BLOG. I digress; maybe Reynolds Still is all those men and more! I’m always intrigued by those gentlemen who lead a life of sophistication, class and taste…..that’s why I WANNA BE NACHO FIGUERAS!

No. 2

No. 3
Talk about a WAY cool guy, this polo playing sensation, Ralph Lauren POLO spokesman and all around trendsetter, Nacho seems to have it all. Ignacio "Nacho" (I want a cool name in quotes) Figueras, born March 4, 1977 is an Argentine polo player ranked as one of the top 100 polo players in the world. This gentleman developed a love for horses and the game of polo around the age of nine and by the time he was 17 began his professional polo career. Nacho's name has become so synonymous with the sport of polo that the American Museum of Natural History looked to Figueras to donate his polo equipment for their display.

Off the field, Nacho's natural charisma made him the face of Ralph Lauren clothing and Polo fragrance in 2005. How ironic wouldn’t you say to play the sport of polo AND be the spokesman for Ralph Lauren POLO as well?! When Nacho is not working hard to bring attention and glamour to the world of polo play and being the profile of one of the world’s most recognizable men’s fashion labels, Nacho divides his time between the United States and Argentina with his extended family. Sounds like a fascinating life to me!

Smooth Moves!

The greatest dancers that ever tapped across the stage, gentlemen Fayard and Harold Nicholas definitely set the bar for all MEN to follow on and off stage. Legends to this day, the brothers Nicholas were known for their artistry and choreographic brilliance. As I watch the creative genius of the Nicholas Brothers in this short clip from the movie “Stormy Weather”, speaking from a man’s perspective it has left me with only one thing to say, OUCH!

Come On In!

No. 1
It has been a very productive week at the Reynolds Still manor and being one who is down with OBB, that is Organized Beyond Belief, I have accomplished many a To Do! One item on my list was to change the look to the front door of my home to reflect the more masculine tones I have throughout the interior. Keeping in line with the leather and suede inside, I ditched the green and painted the door Earth Brown as it’s called and wiped a black antiquing glaze over the top to give it that “aged look”. I’m happy to say the outcome definitely invites my family and friends to “Come On In”!
